For Renu Jain, the Sitar and self are identical entities, and music is not just a discipline but life itself - vibrating and pulsating and full of color. The power of her music is most immediately encountered in the mesmerizing music of her Sitar and the intense sweetness that is the hallmark of her passionate and beautiful music. by sheer precision and an astute artistic sense she has made for herself a place in the limitless, infinite universe of indian Classical Music. A versatile Artist , she has spent her early years painting with oils and water colors, dabbling in ceramics and sculpture, discovering the grace of Kathak dance. After graduting in English Literature from Delhi University and majoring Interior Design from the University of Minnesota (USA), she resumed her love with music. In all, these pursuites she had the yearning to discover her own expression, which led her to the magical kingdom of 'Sapt Swaras' and the yearning became an obsession, occupying all her wakeful hours. As Payal Jain, Renu's daughter testifies by saying, " I grew up watching my mother practising her sitar as long as 20 hours a day. Her commitment to her music is unparalleled and it is her devotion, Passion and entire Life". This caliber was tenderly nurtured by her husband Dr. Prem Jain, as Renu says " I owe my music to him".

Playing Sitar for her is an offering of worship at the feet of the Lord, an express in joyous abundance, her gratitude for the gift of music. "It is the most fulfilling creative expression and if I only played sitar for the rest of my life , I'd have lived my life in its fullest measure", claims Renu. She live to play and loves to play. Her rhythmic music merges soul with music, becoming one the Raga, its moods, its various shades and emotions as her 'Mizrab' works magic on the strings. As she says " Thoughts of mine that are never captured by words, find expression in the joyous notes of my music". According to Renu Jain, the ultimate purpose of her music and sitar is "To spread happiness or Anand (as we say it in Sanskrit) to human soul, to bring a smile on every face, to feel the joy and ecstasy to the core of the heart to all creation of almighty god."

A sitar virtuoso, she is forever ready to play for a cause, be it a construction of a Temple in Singapore, or an Orphange in Muscat, or a School in Mauritius, or a Hospital in some distant village. She has time and again traveled across the world , performing for worthy charities without any charge or reimbursement at various music festival, in major temples and pilgrimages all over India. For her great contribution to field of music and commendable services, many organizations and societies have showered Renu Jain with recognition. She is winner of Life Time Achievement Award, Indira Gandhi Shiromani Award, The Da Vinci Diamond for Outstanding Contribution to Indian Music, Vidya Saraswati Puraskar & ABI Torch For Global Inspiration and Eminent Sitar Artiste.
